The United Arab Emirates has an arid, subtropical climate, meaning that the weather is hot and very humid in the coastal area, and dry and very hot inland.

Summer

From May to October, the temperatures are very high, reaching in excess of 48ºC. In Dubai it can get as hot as 50ºC and in Abu Dhabi temperatures reach an average of 41ºC in July and August. In addition to the uncomfortably hot weather, at the beginning of summer the country receives the influence of the wind that comes from the northwest and is full of sand.

Overall, the summer is the low season, with hardly any tourists visiting between June and September.

Winter

November to April is the high season in the UAE, and also the most comfortable time to visit the region to avoid the extremely high temperatures of the summer. The temperatures are milder and stay at 21ºC, with January and February being the coldest months. Abu Dhabi is best visited from February to March, whereas Dubai should be avoided between March and April as a result of sandstorms.

If you are looking for good weather but want to benefit from low season prices, visiting between April and May and the month of October, can be considered the mid-season.
