when to go to the seychelles

The Seychelles is a cluster of islands in the Indian Ocean and is the epitome of an island paradise. It has a tropical climate so you should expect year-round high temperatures and distinct rainy seasons and dry seasons. Whilst the rains of the wet season may be heavy they rarely last for very long. The average temperature is close to 30°C, and the water offers averages between 26°C and 30°C. On the three main islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, the climate is perfect for exploring at any time of the year.

The Rainy Season

October to April

Wind is fairly strong, but temperatures are at their hottest. December and January are the rainiest months, with 15 days rain in December and January.

The Dry Season

April to October

The winds are much stronger than during the rainy season, which may be good for windsurfers but the temperatures also drop. Maximum average temperatures in July and August go down to 28°C, while the minimum average also drops to 25°C in July, August and September.

The transition months between the dry and rainy seasons are the best times to visit the Seychelles. The temperatures are great, rainfall levels are lower, and it isn't as windy.
