Mauritius has a beautiful tropical climate and as a result remains warm all year round for visitors to experience glistening beaches, luxury resorts and incredible wildlife. That being said, there are seasonal variations and the best time to visit depends on you.

Summer

November to April

These are warmest months in Mauritius, with the two hottest months being January and February. During the summer, winds only affect the south and southeast coast. The north and west are protected by the mountains, so they stay warm and dry. If you enjoy snorkelling, the warmer weather in Mauritius attracts more marine life so these calmer, warmer seas make for exciting viewings.

You may experience cyclones in the summer months; however they don't tend to cause much damage and most resorts remain unaffected. 

Winter

May to October

The temperature in winter doesn’t change significantly and there is no wet season here. July is the coldest month of the year in Mauritius with temperatures sitting in the low 20's. June to September on the east of the island can feel breezy and several degrees cooler than it is, and there may be poor visibility snorkelling. The west coast remains calmer and warmer.
