Perfect Panama trips
Culturally diverse and visually breath-taking, Panama is an undiscovered gem with laidback Caribbean charm. If you’re looking for glistening islands, lush rainforests, dazzling blue coastlines, cosmopolitan cities and ancient buildings this is the destination for you. It is also a melting pot with a mix of indigenous cultures, which you will see in the food and clothing, and western influences. Despite being famous for engineering the extraordinary Panama Canal, there’s far more to experience in Panama than this man made wonder. The modern capital Panama City is a cosmopolitan destination, full of excellent restaurants, towering skyscrapers overlooking the sea and beautiful colonial architecture. It is a fantastic start to any Panama adventure.
The Panama Canal will amaze you with the ingenuity of its design as a shortcut through the great continental divide. Approximately 14,000 boats transit the canal each year, and you can join them on a cruise. As you journey down this marvel, take in the glaring contrast of huge ships next to the luscious jungle fringed vistas alongside it, teeming with incredible wildlife.
Beyond the bucket list cruise down the Panama Canal, Panama is an excellent adventure destination. You could zipline through rainforest canopies, snorkel the spectacular tropical waters, or trek through the misty cloud-forests.
Panama may not be the first country that comes to mind when thinking of incredible beaches, however its beaches rival the most famous Central American beaches. Lined by the Caribbean on one side and the Pacific on the other, Panama is home to a number of enchanting islands. You can experience relaxed beach days or active surfing days. We recommend the archipelago of Bocas del Toro, the San Blas islands, and Isla Coiba for dreamlike beaches and wonderful marine life.
Panama is home to more species of birds and trees than North America, offering lush rainforests bursting with life. Along with the marine life, the wildlife on-land makes this a fabulous destination for animal lovers, and there is the opportunity to discover species unique to the area. The indigenous territory of Guna Yala offers visitors an excellent sustainable tourism experience. You will find hiking trails and a railway to be discovered, plus the emerald green highlands of Boquete to explore.
We highly recommend a tour of Panama as an off-the-beaten-track destination. Contact our specialists to talk through all your options and we can provide you with the tailormade adventure of a lifetime.
