Riviera Maya: this is a fabulous place for a family holiday, and a great destination for one of the shorter half term holidays to get some sun. Chichén Itzá: parents and children alike will be wowed by these fabulous Mayan ruins. They are set in fabulous jungle scenery, and there are towering pyramids you can climb to get spectacular views of the whole area.

Mérida: a lively city offering a real introduction to life in Mexico, the whole family will enjoy the cultural scene here. Sample some of the incredible food and watch daily performances.   

Palenque: another fabulous archaeological site, for families who love history this is an excellent addition to your itinerary.

Mexico City and Teotihuacan: a city full of parks and plazas, excellent food and fantastic hotels located close to a fabulous historical site. It’s a great base for families for a few days.

Watersports: from snorkelling to stand-up paddleboarding, jet-skiing to surfing, Mexico offers fabulous destinations on both coasts for water-enthusiasts to have a perfect holiday. Try snorkelling or diving in Cozumel, where you can get a magical underwater experience alongside a lovely beach town, or Playa Medano for water sports above the waves. With smaller children, Playa Empacadora has calm, clear waters that are perfect for wading.
