Bangkok has something to offer everyone. Experience an authentic Thai boxing match or imagine the royal life of the King of Siam with a visit to the Grand Palace. An early morning floating market will trigger your senses and a visit to one of the masseurs lining the tourist streets, offering amazing massages, is a fun and unique experience. We highly recommended spending a few days in this intoxicating capital.

An easy journey from Bangkok is the western town of Kanchanaburi. A trip here offers both history and nature and is a highly recommended addition to a Thailand itinerary. Kanchanaburi is the location of the famous Bridge Over the River Kwai, which was built by Japanese POWs during WWII. Walking across the bridge is extremely popular, as is taking a train ride over the bridge and through the local countryside.

An absolute must for adventurous travellers is a journey north to the second city of Chiang Mai. From here there are many options for active individuals, including trekking, staying with local hill tribes and exploring the rivers on bamboo rafts, whilst navigating the rapids. Another reason for travelling north is the opportunity to experience the incredible and regal Asian Elephants being protected by sanctuaries, such as Elephant Nature Park.

For a change of pace leave the adventures in the north and head south to the beaches and the islands. Imagine waking up in paradise in an amazing Thai resort and spending the day on beautiful beaches, swimming in isolated bays and clear waters. The most famous of the Thai beach resorts is Phuket, with it’s long sandy beaches and great nightlife. For a quieter experience you could choose Krabi or Koh Samui, both offering some of the best beaches in the world. Whilst the islands are very relaxing, this is not to say that there is no adventure to be had here. The opportunities to scuba dive, sail, fish and snorkel is incredible. You can see a huge variety of sea life; the icing on the cake being the gentle giant, the whale shark.
